TRIO Day Important Information TRIO Day is a time for celebration, reflection, and action as we recognize the importance of expanding access to higher education for disadvantaged students. The Federal TRIO Programs support low-income and first-generation students in pursuing and completing their college degrees. This annual celebration honors TRIO participants, promotes student leadership, and provides professional development opportunities for TRIO staff. It also includes identifying and collaborating with a New Mexico state legislator to sponsor the TRIO Day Proclamation. This year, in order for our students to experience the capitol in session, and our legislators to witness the impact that TRIO has on our students, the event will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Given recent developments, we will be focusing on empowering our students to advocate for the TRIO programs that have supported them throughout their academic careers. Registration Deadline: Monday, January 12, 2026.
